Document fluidics and accessories without dismantling the system

Small components can disappear from an equipment description even while they remain attached to the instrument. A careful record helps keep a protein-analysis setup understandable.

Photograph the installed arrangement

Take a complete front view and readable model-label photographs. Add views of external valves, detectors and collectors where visible. Do not remove covers, disconnect tubing or handle internal parts simply to improve the record.

Separate installed from spare

List installed modules separately from spare parts, consumables and loose accessories. For each spare item, state its condition if known. A box of components should not be described as a complete or compatible set without supporting information.

Describe the recent history

State the last known use and whether the system remains connected, was prepared for storage or has an unresolved fault. Name available service records and their dates. Do not substitute a generic cleaning instruction for the manufacturer’s procedure.

Keep the workstation in scope

Identify the controller and software information that is available, without sharing keys or credentials. Software transfer and technical preparation need separate confirmation. Agree the hardware list before moving modules to different rooms or separating a working setup.

A reusable equipment record

The CSV template opens in common spreadsheet applications. Keep one row per item and link related modules with a system reference. Leave genuinely unknown details marked as unknown.
