Biophysical and purification systems benefit from a handover that preserves context. The aim is a clear record of what is included, what is known and what needs specialist attention.
Keep the system together on paper.
List the main unit, modules, accessories and workstation. For purification equipment, identify pumps, detectors, valves and any fraction collector. For interaction systems, record the platform, sample handling and available accessories.
Describe use and storage accurately.
Record the last use and how long the system has been stored or disconnected. Note known leaks, blockages, faults or service recommendations. Include maintenance or performance records if you already have them.
Document the software and records.
Share software names and versions, available manuals and licence information. Identify who can confirm transfer arrangements. Remove unrelated research data or personal information before sharing documents or handing over a computer.
Agree preparation with the right people.
Cleaning, storage preparation and disconnection depend on the instrument and its history. Confirm the appropriate manufacturer guidance and qualified responsibilities. Agree packing, collection, timing and the final equipment scope in writing.
Start with the equipment you have.
Send the model, configuration, condition and location. Attach photographs and any relevant records to your email.
